man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God
bread featuring heavily at the moment.
after years of whingeing (is that spelt right?) about the state of the sliced loaves in this country today, have made substantial long-term investment in hardwear. breadmaker has landed in kitchen, and much excitement among assembled K crew as ingredients piled in and whirring begins. hadn't realised process took so long and stagger into dark kitchen at 4am narrowly missing overlively retriever (dog) being tortured by smell of fresh bread seeping out of maker lid.
bread at the centre at work; actually frankly gorgeous pastries and huge croissants in Red Sky Cafe requiring some willpower to keep personal intake at sustainable level for arteries and internal systems generally.
curfew lifted in Pakistan Swat region, tens of thousands of ordinary human beings flee. beautiful foothill landscape visited by tourists, now point of violent meeting between government and taleban. wonder if K crew would cope there: 7 hours to abandon four walls full fridge fluffy duvet to face elements treking across terrain for days with wife and children. no warm bread.
Rehmat Alam tells press "we just got out relying on God because there is no one else to help us". I thank God for this man and others who go on trusting God. pray that Jesus will draw close to Rehmat and other civilians who seek God. how very different to taleban.
saw new Star Trek on Saturday. boldly going where no man (or woman) has been before. Simon Pegg in charge of engines as Scottie- fantastic. no fresh bread in space. transported from 02 centre back to Finchley Road. see new cafe sign on - hope more people will enjoy food for the stomach, and food for the soul this week. me too.
